QUESTIONS FOR REPRODUCTOLOGIST
The most favorable period for sexual intercourse for the purpose of conception is the period 1-3 days before ovulation (the release of a mature egg from the ovary) and a day after. A woman usually ovulates 12-14 days after her period starts. Spermatozoa remain mobile and viable for 48-72 hours after sexual intercourse. So while it’s important to have intercourse shortly before ovulation, don’t worry if you can’t have sex exactly on the day you ovulate.
