Asian Civilizations Today. From New Rise To Bright Future Perspectives

Asia occupies the largest area of all continents, with a population of about two-thirds of the world, and more than 1,000 ethnic groups. Of the world’s four ancient civilizations, three are in Asia.

Historically, from the beginning of the AD to the beginning of the 19th century, the Asian economy occupied an absolute dominant position in the world. Asian civilization has written a rich chapter in the history of world civilization. Although in the past 200 years, Asian civilization has been in a backward situation due to colonialism and other reasons, after entering the 21st century, countries such as China and India have risen rapidly. Asian countries can continue to create a new Asian civilization and new economy, development trend.

Asia is being rejuvenated. It advocates the diversity of civilizations and continuously promotes exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, that will play a very important role in realizing a community with a shared future for mankind.

Western and Eastern civilizations have both encountered a bottleneck so the activities of the Asian Civilization Dialogue Conference (ACDC) are designed and carried out closely around the theme of “Asian Civilization Exchanges and Mutual Learning and a Community of Shared Destiny”.

After the end of the Cold War, there has been a countercurrent in the world, to be precise, There was a tendency to complain among Asians like “Western countries believe that the political system, values and Christianity advocated by Westerners are the highest civilization in the world, and other civilizations seem to be affected.”

Under the influence of this kind of thinking, the past two decades of history that the world has gone through is actually a very uneven history. Especially after the end of the Cold War, American scholar Huntington put forward the theory of clash of civilizations, thinking that the future trend of world civilization is the conflict between Western civilization and Confucian civilization and Islamic civilization. In recent years, unilateralism, protectionism, and populism have begun to rise. Faced with constantly emerging new problems and challenges, under this background, China proposed to host the Asian Civilization Dialogue Conference, advocating equal dialogue among civilizations, and advocating that there is no difference between civilizations and that they should be mutually tolerant. It is at the right time and is of great significance.

Judging from the history of human society for thousands of years, the development of each civilization is the result of the integration of the development of other civilizations, whether it is the ancient Chinese civilization, Indian civilization, Egyptian civilization, Pakistani civilization, Persian civilization, etc. And so on, are all produced on the basis of absorbing foreign cultures and merging with each other.

For example, Chinese culture includes the Buddhist culture of India. Chinese civilization was born on the land of China and has been enriched through exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations. It is precisely with the spirit of treating each other as equals, opening up exchanges, and exchanging what is needed that Asia has created brilliance. We hope that in the future, all countries can communicate on an equal footing, and on the basis of dialogue, everyone will continue to merge and influence each other to create new civilizations.

Regrettably, after the end of the Cold War, it has been has created an illusion in the world because of superior spiritual power, financial power, trade power, and the ability to control the world situation which can be found both in Western and Eastern civilizations. That is to say the system of beliefs that someone is the most advanced and outstanding civilization in the world, and other countries should learn to imitate his civilization.

Indeed, from the British Industrial Revolution 500 years ago to the present, the West has created a modern civilization, and many countries around the world are learning. But this is not to say that Western or Eastern civilizations can replace each other in the world, but that different civilizations should merge with each other. Especially since the end of the Cold War to the present, both hemisphere have also encountered a bottleneck, forming a situation of dominance, which has created a great obstacle to the exchanges between civilizations in the world. The future of mankind, both economically and culturally, should be a situation of win-win cooperation. Only after mutual exchanges and integration can a newer and better civilization be created.

The main birthplace of human civilization is in Asia. One is East Asian civilization and the other is West Asian civilization. East Asian civilization is mainly Chinese Confucian civilization. West Asian civilization is the civilization of Persian and Islamic civilization. The impact is great.

However, in the past 200 years, the economic level of the entire Asian countries has been relatively backward, and the level of science and technology has also lagged far behind that of Western developed countries. Correspondingly, the influence of culture has also declined. However, the civilization value of these countries has not been reduced because of this. Asian cultural classics, inventions and magnificent buildings still stand tall among the world’s civilizations.

After entering the 21st century, the entire East Asian region, which is characterized by the rapid economic development of China, is undergoing changes. The world’s political and economic center of gravity is also shifting to Asia, especially to East Asia, and Asia is being rejuvenated. Under such circumstances, the civilizations of Asian countries need to strengthen exchanges, provide people with some new public products, information and brand-new values, and promote the development of Asian civilizations in a better and more stable manner.

Asian civilization is multi-ethnic and multi-religious, with diversified characteristics. That being the case, we should promote peaceful coexistence, equal treatment, and common prosperity among different civilizations and religions. This is the general direction of development, and we should not demean or elevate others, or even think which one should be treated. Elimination, this is all wrong.

Asian civilization can shine with new brilliance, because in history, the Chinese nation in East Asia, the Persian and Arab nations in West Asia, and India in South Asia have all created splendid cultures, which have contributed to human civilization. Make a very important contribution. Now, with the re-emergence of the economies of these countries, the civilizations of these nations will absorb the nutrients of other civilizations more and better, and merge them to create more mature and splendid civilizations on this basis. Asian civilization “regains its lead in the world” through business, and this prospect is worth looking forward to.
